Keep Your Go-To Tools One Click Away
What this helps you do
This guide helps you turn the platform into your personal trading desk by setting up Favorites across the areas you use most. You’ll favorite the tools you reach for on repeat, so the platform does the remembering for you. The goal is simple: fewer menu hunts, more time actually reading the chart.
The one rule of Favorites
If you hover and see a star, you can favorite it. Favorites do not change what a tool does, they just move it closer to your fingertips.
Step 1: Make the chart toolbar feel like yours
This is the “I use this every day” layer. You’re aiming for a small set of one-click buttons that match your habits.
Start with Drawings. Open your drawing tools, browse to the drawing type you use constantly (Channel is a common one), hover until the star appears, and click it. Once it’s favorited, that drawing becomes a round one-click button on the right side of your Chart Toolbar. The drawing still behaves the same way, you just stop digging for it.
Do the same for Chart Types. If you switch to Heikin-Ashi often, favorite it. It becomes another round one-click button on the right side of the toolbar, so you can flip chart style without reopening the chart type menu.
Now lock in your “default brain” indicators using Favorite Studies. In the Studies menu, hover over the studies you use all the time and star them. Instead of creating a bunch of toolbar buttons, your favorites appear inside the Favorite Studies star icon on the toolbar. This is your fast “add my usual tools” list.
Finally, favorite your Layouts to create trading “modes.” In the Layouts menu, star the custom layouts you actually use. Each favorited layout becomes a round button on the toolbar labeled with the first letter of the layout’s name, like D for “Day Trading Layout.” Only custom layouts can be favorited, so if you do not see a star, it’s not eligible yet.
At this point, your toolbar should look like your actual routine, not a generic toolbox.
Step 2: Set up your right-side shortcuts
This is where you stop bouncing around the platform like you forgot what you came into the room for.
Favorite your chatrooms
In the Chatroom widget, click the chatroom selector, which is the name of the current room at the top. A pop-up list of chatrooms opens. Hover over a chatroom, click the star, and that room becomes a one-click icon directly below the selector, labeled with the room’s initial.
The practical win is that your “home base” chatrooms stay parked right there, so you can check in without reopening the chatroom list every time.
Favorite your watchlists
In the Watchlist widget, click the watchlist selector at the top to open the pop-up list. Hover over the watchlists you use most, click the star, and you’ll get one-click watchlist icons under the selector, labeled with the watchlist initial.
This is the “stop scrolling, start scanning” move, especially if you keep a few core lists you rotate through daily.
Use flags for quick symbol groups
Flags are a separate system from favoriting watchlists, and they are sneakily useful. Inside any watchlist, each ticker row has an empty flag icon. When you click it, you can tag that symbol with green, yellow, purple, or red. The first time you use a color, that colored flag appears below the watchlist selector as its own one-click icon. Clicking a colored flag shows a view made up of only the symbols flagged with that color.
This is perfect for quick, recurring buckets like “watch next,” “needs review,” “in play,” or “parking lot,” without creating a brand-new watchlist.
Step 3: Favorite your saved strategy filters so scanning is instant
This is where you turn a multi-criteria scan into a one-click preset.
Go to the Strategies tab, click Filter, and then click Saved. Under My Filters, hover over a saved filter and click the star to favorite it.
If you do not have anything under My Filters, you need to create and save a custom filter first. Community filter sets can’t be saved, which means they also can’t be favorited.
Once a filter is favorited, it shows up as a round one-click button near the top of the Strategies results area, labeled with the first letter of the filter name, like P for “PayDay Cycle.” Clicking that button applies the saved filter immediately.
This is the difference between “I know exactly what I’m looking for” and “I’m rebuilding the same filter again.”
Keep it clean
Favorites work best when they stay honest. If you have twenty favorites, you have zero favorites. Keep the handful you actually use, and unstar the rest. You can always bring them back later.
